As we move though life we are constantly making millions of decisions, automatically & unconsciously in order to filter out what is important for our conscious minds to experience. These decisions are made so quickly, most people are not aware that this process is actually happening.

As we encounter a stressful event, our nervous system makes a split second decision about whether we have the resources to fully experience it. More often than not, we do not adapt well to stressful events so we don’t digest these experiences appropriately. Instead they get partitioned and placed in storage within our bodies somewhere, to be accessed later when the nervous system deems it safe enough to digest it. These disconnected parts of us not only carry information   about the event, but they also store an imprint of our personalities, that were present at the time the event occurred. Our parts, therefore are the result of our mind’s strategy to keep us feeling protected & safe. It’s our bodies best attempt to stay healthy during times of disconnection and turmoil.  In my commitment to chiropractic, health, and wellness I’ve chosen to study the mind-body relationship and the myriad ways to effect positive long lasting change in the rapport between these two structures. Truly there is noe separation between the two and lately we’ve come to understand the large amounts of neural input that arrive from our gut area in our abdomen as well as the heart. One goal I have for patients is to invest in their adaptive capacity so that when stress arrives the ability to respond will occur without a major challenge.
